On 28 October, Federal Minister for Climate Change Musadik Malik announced plans to establish a US$10 million fund to support startups developing solutions to Pakistan’s air-pollution challenges. The proposed fund is expected to be financed through domestic government resources, with support from development partners also being explored. The announcement did not yet provide detailed eligibility criteria or confirm the first funding disbursements.
The initiative could create opportunities for startups working on air-quality monitoring, industrial emissions control, clean technology and environmental data platforms.
